Dell Stewart and Adam Cruickshank, working collaboratively under the moniker 'Sleep Club', will
create an open-ended exploration into slumber and its connotations, both personal and universal,
for their exhibition at Utopian Slumps. Taking the form of an imaginary club house for invisible
somnambulists, the entire gallery space will be transformed into a pillow-laden dreamland, comprising a double bed, flickering animations, painted, printed, stitched and glued pillow cases,
wall paintings and other soporific delights. Their somewhat scatter-gun approaches combine to
present a constellation of disparate reactions to and investigations into sleep. The process-driven
work is sometimes ambitious in its conceptual agenda, yet remains consciously playful.
